Trained Dogs Make Better Companions
Welcome to K-9 OTC
The K-9 Obedience Training Club of Essex County, NJ, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that has operated continuously since its founding by Hal Wheeler in 1944. In addition to training our own dogs for competition obedience, we are dedicated to the community to help promote responsible dog ownership through training. We do this by holding classes for dogs of all ages and breeds. Our instructors are actively training and competing in various events such as:
Obedience, Rally, Agility, Conformation, Field, Herding, Barn Hunt, and Nosework.
We hold beginner classes (for dogs that have little or no training) and all levels of competition obedience classes. Upon completion of our Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes, your dog will be eligible to test for a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title offered by the AKC. Classes are held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in Cedar Grove, NJ.
Our motto is “Trained dogs make better companions.” Come join us and learn how to make your dog your best companion.
